TaylorMade British Open Staff Bag Staff Colour

This bag honors the sesquicentennial (150th) playing of golf's oldest major. As the championship returns to the home of golf, we rightfully honor the grand old family: Old and Young Tom Morris. The father and son duo born in St. Andrews accounted for 43 British Open appearances, tallying eight wins in the process. Their initials can be found on the bag handle, while the side panel features a tweed fabric inspired by their traditional Scottish garb.

The phrase "To let it rest" sits on the crown of the bag as a reminder of the course's long-standing tradition of closing on Sundays. In Old Tom’s words: “The links need a rest, even if the golfers don’t.” A clock centered on the ball pouch is set promptly to 1:50 and pays homage to the historic championship. Four flowers adorn a second "150" on the valuables pouch and represent each of the four constituent countries in the United Kingdom.

"R" and "G" on the side panel are a tribute to the March Stones that define the course's boundary. Some of these stones have been in place for almost a millennium. A visible "R" inscribed on one side signals farmland while the "G" stands for golf. Historically, they drew the line to separate grazing areas from the golf links as the game began to grow in popularity.
